Diane: Arborist + Horticulturist
Diane Knighton grew up in her parents nursery, White House Nursery. This is where her foundation of business and plants began. Starting in her early years all the way through college summers, she worked in various positions at the nursery. She started Design With Nature in 2011 with a focus on protecting existing mature trees during the design and development process. One of her favorite things is picking and eating sweet peas from her mom’s garden.
She has a BS degree in Landscape Architecture from WVU; is a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture; Maryland Licensed Tree Expert; is a Certified Horticulturist through the Maryland Nursery Landscape and Greenhouse Association; and is a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator through the Department of Agriculture State of Maryland
Greg: Hardscape Manager
Greg is our go-to for anything contracting and construction. With over 10+ years of experience in the field, stormwater management and the National Guard, he oversees our team and works with our landscape designer to plan and strategize hardscape layouts.
Carmen: Landscape Designer + Horticulturist
Carmen, brings over thirty-five years of experience to Design With Nature. She has been involved in many different aspects of the landscape industry including residential landscape designs, landscape installation, managing commercial and residential landscape maintenance, and supervising multiple landscape crews. She enjoys interacting with customers, designing and being on site with the guys but by far her favorite thing is giving people gardens and watching them come into existence – it’s magical.
She holds a degree in Sustained Horticulture; is a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture; is a Certified Horticulturist through the Maryland Nursery Landscape and Greenhouse Association; and is a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator through the Department of Agriculture State of Maryland.
Bill: Herbicide Manager
Bill is a Marine veteran and has over 10 years’ experience working in herbicide application joined our team in 2017. He has a degree in Environmental Science which makes him not only knowledgeable about other things surrounding his job but passionate about what he does.
Jackie: Office Manager
Jackie is the first person our clients speak to when they inquire about a project. She’s friendly and informative with our customers and has worked with us for 2 years. Not only does she give us a great first impression but she also assists with other administrative tasks like accounting and planning.
